Lahaina’s Front Street is scheduled to reopen to vehicle traffic on August 1, 2026, lifting regular access restrictions between Pāpalaua Street and Shaw Street. Front Street (from Pāpalaua to Shaw streets), plus Dickenson Street and Prison Street, will open with no regular time limits.
As of July 17, Front Street is closed from Pāpalaua to Dickenson Street.
Beginning Aug. 1, Pāpalaua to Shaw will reopen to vehicular traffic, with no regularly restricted hours.
In addition, Dickenson and Prison streets will be reopened.
Still closed: Market Street, Papelekane Street, and Mokuhinia Place remain closed for ongoing harbor dredging and infrastructure work.
